Is it true that one day we all find someone special?

Iam not sure if it means someone that you really care about or love, but I have this friend, she always seems to know what to say. Shes very silly, but when the time comes shes very serious, and shes usually serious about this kind of thing. I remember once she said "Movies are movies. Life is your own story, one you have to write. Its hard, but that only cause its the way its ment to be. And we are always ment to find someone one day. Be patient." I found those words very inspiring and beautiful. Should I listen to what she says, and just be patient? Or should I listen to myself, and write my own story .
