Depending on how old you and your friends are, they probably won't make fun of you. If their in elementary school, then they probably will, but in high school and middle school, your friends should be encouraging you to go out with him. Also, don't be nervous about going to the dance with him, because chances are, hes just as nervous as you to be going on a date. If your friends do make fun of you, just ignore them, and don't let them get in the way of your relationship with the guy you like. Hope I helped! :)
