Why is simvastatin given to my patient?

my patient has pulmonary tuberculosis and pneumonia, i have seen in her chart that she is taking simvastatin which is an antilipidemic agent., but her problem is only about the respiratory. i just want to ask what is the action of simvastatin to her lungs?or any complications that copuld arise that she may need simvastatin.
