What are some good semi-recent but unpopular songs?

I'm 14 and girls are always posting song lyrics that they find on facebook and some of them sound really pretty but i'm tired of copying everything they're doing! Do you know of any good songs that are alternative (or not), or any genre will work really, that are good? They can be by popular artist or just a youtube artist but please, any good ones?
